Why I Built IRON AUNTIES
I was a chubby teenager, and at fourteen I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting. After that, I spent years trying different things: diets, exercise programs I would stick with for a while before losing interest, and then months later, I would find myself starting over again.
What finally made the difference was not finding a more extreme solution. It was slowing down, learning, and giving myself grace.
I gave myself more time and stopped trying to change everything all at once. I focused on one habit at a time. I learned again what sensible portions looked like, made better choices more often, and started training with a clear purpose instead of just exercising without much direction. I hired a personal trainer who inspired and motivated me.
In about 18 months, I lost 110 pounds.
The process was not perfect. There were good times, tough times, and lots of ordinary days in between. What mattered most was that I kept returning to it. I was persistent.
I wish I had learned this lesson much earlier: real, lasting change takes time, and you do not have to be perfect to make progress. For years, magazines made unrealistic bodies and routines seem normal. Social media often does the same thing today.
Now, as I get closer to 50, I feel stronger, fitter, healthier, and more capable than I did in most of my 20s and 30s. That means much more to me now than ever chasing some idea of perfection.
I am right here in this stage of life with the women I coach. I am also thinking about my own strength, muscle, health, and independence in the years ahead. I have a personal reason to keep learning, to understand the evidence, and to make thoughtful choices about how I train and eat. I use these principles in my own life and help my clients use them in theirs.
I do not want to go back to feeling unhealthy, uncomfortable in my own skin, or disconnected from what my body can do. I want to keep getting stronger and stay capable for as long as I can. I also want to help other women do the same in a way that fits their own lives.
I started IRON AUNTIES because I want women to know that the next chapter is not set in stone. What you do now can truly affect how strong, capable, and confident you feel in the years to come.
My story is just my own. I can offer thoughtful coaching, a plan made for you, and a process that is realistic enough to stick with, one day at a time.

Tired days, tough sets, and showing up anyway.
How I coach
There are a few key ideas that shape every program I create.
These aren't rules or restrictions. They're the principles I come back to when life gets complicated and a plan needs to bend without breaking.
- 01
Keep going, even when life gets messy
You do not need perfect weeks to make progress. What matters is having a plan you can return to after travel, busy days, missed workouts, holidays, or anything else that comes up in real life.
- 02
Use evidence, not trends
Your training and nutrition should rely on solid principles, not just what is trending online. I use science to guide your plan, then tailor it to your body, your goals, your experience, and your life.
- 03
Train for the life you actually want
Fitness should add to your life, not take it over. The aim is to help you become stronger, fitter, and more capable so you can travel, garden, hike, keep up with loved ones, and keep doing what matters to you.
- 04
Strength is worth protecting
Strength and muscle are about more than appearance. They help you move well, carry things, use your body with confidence, and keep your physical freedom as you get older.
- 05
Progress should mean more than a number on the scale
Your weight can be helpful to track, but it is just one part of the story. Strength, energy, stamina, movement, how your clothes fit, confidence, and what your body can do all matter as well.
- 06
You should understand what you're doing and why
I do not want you to rely on a coach forever. Good coaching means helping you understand your training and nutrition, and how to make smart changes when life shifts. Over time, you should feel more confident making your own choices.
