Why train at home

Knowing what to do, with someone beside you.

Most women I talk to already know strength training is good for them. What holds them back is not knowing where to start, worrying about getting hurt, or feeling out of place in a gym.

Training at home takes a lot of that away. I'm right there with you, watching how you move, adjusting as we go, and making sure every exercise feels safe for your body. Bit by bit, you learn the movements well enough to do them on your own.

What you get

What you can count on.

You'll know what to do

I show you each movement, explain why it matters, and make sure you can do it without me.

You'll move safely

Every exercise is matched to your body, your history and the space you have.

You'll stay motivated

It's much easier to keep going when someone is expecting you on Tuesday morning.

Someone in your corner

Good days, tired days and off weeks. I'm with you for all of them.

A typical week

Two sessions together. One on your own.

This is the rhythm I usually suggest. We'll choose your days together on the call, around your life.

What happens next

Getting started at home.

  1. 1

    Take the assessment

    2 min

A few questions about your goals, your history and where you live. I read every answer before we talk.

  2. 2

    Talk it through

    Free call

We talk about what you want, your health, and how often you'd like to train. This is also where we go through pricing, which depends on where you live and how many sessions a week you choose. No pressure, no obligation.

  3. 3

    Health screening

    Before we start

You fill in the PAR-Q+, a standard health questionnaire. If anything needs your doctor's okay first, we sort that out before your first session.

  4. 4

    Your first session

    At home

I look at your space and the equipment you have, we go through a few basic movements together, and we start training.

Your home, your pace

What you'll need.

Less than you might think.

A little floor space

Enough room to lie down and take a step in each direction.

A sturdy chair

One of the most useful pieces of equipment in your home.

Comfortable clothes

Clothes you can move in and supportive shoes.

Equipment is optional

If you have dumbbells or bands, we'll use them. If not, I'll bring what we need.

Safety first. Every client completes a health screening before we begin. We work around old injuries, joint replacements, arthritis or osteoporosis where it's safe to, and I'll ask for your doctor's clearance when it's needed.

Who it is for

Is in-home training right for you?

A good fit

You'll probably do well here if…

  • You're a woman over 50 who wants to feel stronger and more capable
  • You've never lifted weights, or it's been a long time
  • You'd feel more comfortable training at home than in a gym
  • You want to understand what you're doing, not just follow along
  • You'd like someone to keep you motivated and on track
  • You live in Kelowna, West Kelowna or Peachland

Not a good fit

This may not be the right fit if…

  • You're looking for very rapid or extreme weight loss
  • You'd rather train in a gym with other people around
  • You don't want strength training to be part of your routine
  • You live outside the area. Online coaching may suit you better.
